In our hectic everyday life, time together often comes too short. Take a romantic weekend in Salzburg and enjoy the togetherness with your loved one. We show you where you can dream heavenly in Salzburg and what activities the city has to offer for lovers.
Romantic accommodations
The Mozart
The Mozart is located in one of the most beautiful districts of the city, the Andräviertel. From here you can conquer the city on foot. Be enchanted by the elegant design of the boutique hotel. In the suite, relax in the luxurious bedroom and the charming living room overlooking the mountain panorama. Our recommendation: forget time with a bubble bath in the freestanding tub. Perhaps with a glass of crémant?
Villa Ivy Salzburg
Look forward to cosy corners in the flowery gardens of Villa Ivy and enjoy the grandiose view of the extensive blueberry field and the Untersberg! The surrounding gardens of the castle Hellbrunn are made for a romantic stroll. Charming luxury awaits you in the rooms of the villa. Flowery, cosy and with rich colours to feel good.
Townhouse Tessa
Our Townhouse Tessa is the perfect temporary home for those who like to retreat and don’t want to miss a second of lively Salzburg. And when you’ve had enough of the city hustle and bustle, prepare a romantic dinner in the kitchenette. In the three design apartments in the city centre, you’ll find all the amenities you need for a romantic weekend for two.
Activities for two
Picnic in the green
Whether as a joint point on the agenda or as a surprise for your partner, a picnic in the countryside is always a cosy way to spend the afternoon and unwind. Tip: On Thursdays at Salzburg’s weekly market, the Schranne, you can buy particularly fine delicacies for a picnic, gourmet picnic so to speak. We have already summarized our favourite spots in Salzburg here.
Out into nature
Grab your backpack and spend a day or half-day away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take in the beauty of the Salzburgerland and enjoy the tranquillity with your better half. Whether you are drawn to the mountains or the lakes, you are sure to find a suitable romantic getaway. If you are looking for inspiration, you can discover our favourite destinations in the surrounding area for cyclists here and in this blog post we will tell you about the most beautiful lakes in the region.
Cultural evening in Salzburg
There’s just something magical about going to the opera or theatre together. What’s the reason for that? Perhaps the elegant clothing? Or the obligatory dinner afterwards, where you discuss what you’ve seen? In fact, there is probably no city better suited for a cultural evening than Salzburg with its countless concert halls. Tip: Even aside from the summer festival, there are many musical highlights throughout the year.
Walk through the Mirabellpark
1,200 couples say “I do” to each other in Mirabell Palace every year – quite a proud sum. It is not for nothing that the Marble Hall ( Marmorsaal) is considered one of the most beautiful wedding halls in the world. Add the baroque garden with its famous fountains and you have the perfect wedding venue. A walk through the Mirabell Gardens should therefore be a set point on the program. With a little luck, you will encounter a wedding party.
Sunset with city view
Sunsets are a classic among romantic activities. In Salzburg, one of the most beautiful sunsets can be found on the Gaisberg. The climb is possible both sporty on foot or leisurely by car or public transport. From the top, you have a beautiful view of the city and the surrounding mountains. If that is too much effort for you, you can also enjoy a beautiful sunset from the back of the Mönchsberg overlooking Salzburg’s new town.
Too cheesy? Never!
If you want to eternalize your romantic trip to Salzburg, you can hang a personalized lock with engraving on the Marko Feingold Bridge. According to tradition, you then throw the key into the Salzach. For the sake of the environment, it is better to dispose of the key elsewhere. We promise the vow of love will not be weakened by this.
