Great cafés in Salzburg
Now that temperatures have dropped, there’s nothing better than a hot cup of coffee or tea in good company. We’ve already introduced the best places for an authentic coffee to you in one of our past blog posts, yet, there are some younger, more modern cafés we’d like to show to you as well.
With its own coffee roasting plant, 220° has won a very special place in the hearts of all coffee lovers in Salzburg. The recently opened second café with its stylish interior decoration is an absolute must for everyone strolling around Nonntal.
Opening hours: Tuesday-Friday: 9:00-19:00; Saturday: 9:00-18:00
The African inspired café is a real eye-catcher and the food is just as unique as its colourful furnishing – have you ever eaten pineapple ketchup before? You cannot only enjoy a wide range of coffee and tea at the café but also purchase them for at home. Big plus: all coffee beans and tea leaves are fair-trade.
Opening hours: Monday -Thursday & Sunday: 9:00-23:00; Friday & Saturday: 9:00-24:00
Bauchladen is definitely not a typical café. It is run by an initiative that helps long-term unemployed women back into the world of work. Besides delicious food from all around the world and 220° coffee, the bistro also features a small shop, where you can purchase regional delicacies as well as cute gift ideas.
Opening hours: Monday – Thursday: 9:00- 17:00; Friday: 9:00-14:00
The atmosphere at café Alchemie is welcoming, the coffee delicious and the view on the Salzach unique. However, the café offers only space for about ten people, so you need to be a bit lucky to catch a table.
